“Strange Sickness” was developed by the University of Aberdeen

The Middle Ages have fascinated the video game industry for a long time. The city of Aberdeen in Scotland has decided to capitalise on gamers’ growing interest by creating its own game named “Strange Sickness”.

The video game is based on real events and characters made by historians from the University of Aberdeen. Players follow the journey of Robert Collison, a scientist seeking to devise a plan to stop the spread of an epidemic.

“Strange Sickness” is part of the Burgh Records Project, a collaboration between the university, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives. Profits from the first year of sales of the game will go to the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust and vaccinaid.org.
