Gamers pledged millions of Pounds for Ukrainian relief funds

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, game developers and players have mobilised to support those in need. Currently, the gaming community has raised over £133 million in relief funds.

In the last couple of years, Ukraine has proved itself as one of the major contributors to the gaming scene. The country has over 200,000 developers, and companies like Ubisoft and Gameloft have even mentioned that some of these creators play a big role in the field. As the country is facing such terrible hardships, many companies have promptly organised to help those still stuck in Ukraine.

For instance, Bandai Namco, who recently launched the highly-acclaimed “Elden Ring”, and Square Enix have raised more than £1 million. Epic Games, however, remains the biggest contributor to the relief fund. Via its “Fortnite” franchise, the tech giant raised over £109 million.
