China is the biggest gaming market in the world

China has approved the launch of several new video games in the country after a long crackdown on the gaming industry.

Despite being the world’s biggest gaming market, China has enforced a series of restrictions in 2021 against big tech companies. For instance, officials have capped the number of hours that children can play and frozen approval for new licences.

Now, however, Beijing has authorised 60 new games, including projects from Perfect World and miHoYo, the developer of the popular “Genshin Impact”. For other big companies like Tencent and NetEase, they will have to be more patient, though some of their IPs should be authorised soon.
