“Steelrising” has been launched by Jehanne Rousseau’s company Spiders

In the midst of a video game industry mostly governed by men, Jehanne Rousseau rose as a president and creative director with very bold ideas. In France, with her studio named Spiders, she has already launched seven games.

Its latest release is titled “Steelrising” and is based in an alternative French history where horology enthusiast King Louis XVI raises an army of robots. This game has been developed with an 8-million-dollar budget.

In her early twenties, Jehanne Rousseau joined the industry almost by accident. With an art degree, she stumbled across a job posing by a small independent studio looking for a graphic artist. From there on, she rose up to become the influential figure she is today.
