Chinese gamers are the most addicted to video games

A YouGov survey conducted across 18 countries with over 19,000 participants has revealed that Chinese gamers are among the most addicted, with 29% of respondents identifying video games as one of their top three weekly activities.

This figure is twice as high as the global average of 14%, and the next highest percentages of adults who spend most of their time playing video games were found in Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore. Chinese gamers also spend the longest amount of time playing video games, with an average of 11.3 hours per week, higher than the global average of 8.9 hours.

The survey also found that the 18-24 age group spends the most time playing video games, followed by 25-35 year-olds and 35-44 year-olds. Additionally, male gamers in the age groups of 18-24 and 25-34 spend the most time gaming. The survey also revealed that playing video games is the most common media activity, followed by visiting websites, social media usage, watching streaming video content, and listening to podcasts.
